  • Georgia Tech's student-athletes have a long and proud history of bringing distinction to the Institute on the playing field, in the classroom, and in their careers. The Alexander-Tharpe Fund, Inc. was established as a way to ensure that this tradition can be extended far into the future. By investing in the fund, which exists as a means to support scholarships for Tech's student-athletes, you will help generate a number of dividends for Georgia Tech's student-athletes, the Institute as a whole, and the greater Atlanta community.

The primary purpose of the Alexander-Tharpe Fund, Inc. (A-T) is to raise the money necessary to pay for the scholarships of our student-athletes at Georgia Tech. Our goal at A-T is to raise enough money in unrestricted annual giving to cover the cost of the number of scholarships currently allowed by the NCAA. Georgia Tech is not currently funded at the NCAA maximum scholarship level.

We face an extreme challenge. It is very important to offer as many scholarships as the competition, but the funding of these scholarships must stay in line with our scholarship expenses. Please help us increase the opportunities for gifted young student-athletes by increasing your support in the Alexander-Tharpe Fund, Inc. Your increase will allow Tech to offer more scholarships to young men and women. It will also help A-T reach our goal of raising enough money to fund athletic scholarships at the NCAA maximum level.

When you choose to support Tech's student-athletes through a gift to the Alexander-Tharpe Fund, Inc., you are making an investment in excellence and helping to build a future for these dedicated and talented young men and women.

What remains is for you to examine your options and determine the level at which you can participate in the Alexander-Tharpe Fund, Inc. Remember that your contribution is essential to Georgia Tech's ability to continue providing scholarships and the opportunities they represent for its student-athletes.
